Accessibility statement

This site is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the target it is tested against, and this page is honest about where testing stops.

  • ET — Engineering & Technology
  • SC — Science
  • HS — Health Sciences
  • SH — Social Sciences & Humanities
  • EF — Emerging Fields

What has been tested

Every page and all three forms have been checked for the following.

  • Automated checks with axe-core on every route, run on every change before it ships.
  • Keyboard-only navigation of the whole site, including opening the mobile menu and completing each form.
  • A visible focus indicator on every link, button and form control.
  • Text contrast of at least 4.5:1, including all five domain colours against every background they appear on.
  • Heading order, landmark structure and form labelling.
  • Behaviour when the operating system requests reduced motion.
  • Layout from 360px wide upwards, and at 200% browser zoom.

Known limitations

Colour is used to distinguish the five research domains. It is never the only signal — each domain also carries its two-letter code and its full name — but the colour association itself will not be apparent if you cannot see colour.

The site has not been tested with every combination of screen reader and browser. It has been checked for correct semantics, which is what assistive technology depends on, but that is not the same as bench testing every pairing.

This site is published in English only. A Bengali edition is planned, and until it exists the site will not be usable for people who read only Bengali.

Reporting a barrier

If something here does not work for you, tell FRT and it will be fixed. Describe what you were trying to do, what happened, and what you were using — browser, device and any assistive technology. Reports are read by the same people who maintain the site.
