FRT runs one organization, not five separate institutes. The domains below share a single call for papers, a single review pool, one conference floor and one mentorship cohort. Questions worth answering rarely arrive labelled with a department.
Computational and applied engineering work, from model architecture to the systems that have to run it in production.
The formal and natural sciences, including the environmental and agricultural work that shapes policy across the region.
Clinical, public health and biomedical engineering research, including the technologies that deliver care where specialists are scarce.
How institutions, markets, classrooms and media actually behave — the domain that decides whether technical work reaches anyone.
Work that does not sit cleanly in any one of the four above, which is usually a sign it is worth funding.
FRT helps members prepare, present and place work in the formats their field actually uses. Support covers the writing, the review and the submission. It does not extend to funding, and the secretariat will say so early rather than late.
These are the conditions of taking part. They apply to every submission, every review and every program, and they are published in advance so that nobody meets them for the first time in a rejection letter.
Members submit to the annual conference and to the poster competition, and can put a draft through a peer-review clinic before it goes anywhere else.
